Becky is a Senior Research Fellow at the Uehiro Oxford Institute. Becky’s work focuses on ethical and philosophical issues in public health. She is a research fellow on the 'Expanding Autonomy: Scaffolded, Embedded and Distributed' project, funded by the AHRC. Becky is particularly interested in the philosophy and ethics of public health risk communication, and questions relating to what information ought to be communicated to people and how it should be presented in order to promote epistemic goods (such as knowledge and understanding), as well as health. Related to this, Becky was PI on the project ‘Honesty in Public Health Communication’, funded by the John Templeton Foundation. Becky is also interested in ethical issues related to childbirth and the support of women's choices about how they give birth.
