Moral Pressures: Bending Time, Shaping Wills

We are very pleased to announce details of our upcoming 2026 Annual Uehiro Lectures, with Professor Miranda Fricker (Julius Silver Professor, NYU; Co-Director of the New York Institute of Philosophy.).

The three-part public lecture series, entitled 'Moral Pressures: Bending Time, Shaping Wills, ', will take place in Keble College's H B Allen Centre (Banbury Road, Oxford) on 1st, 3rd, and 8th June 2026, from 16:30 to 18:15.

About the speaker

Miranda Fricker is Julius Silver Professor of Philosophy at NYU, and Co-Director of the New York Institute of Philosophy. She is an Honorary Professor of Philosophy at the University of Sheffield, and a Fellow of both the British Academy and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Her work is mainly in Moral Philosphy and Social Epistemology, with current projects on blame and forgiveness, and on the ethical philosophy of Bernard Williams.  

Professor Fricker will deliver the 2026 Annual Uehiro Lectures: Moral pressures: Bending Time, Shaping Willls.
